Kara and Brad played with Jacks all weekend...he was totally smitten. Kara's eyes are closed in the picture (so she'll kill me for putting this up) but it's so cute anyway!

Brad is gone again this week so my creative juices left with the thunderstorm that kept my kids up the entire night :) I guess the pictures will have to do for now as my commentary is pretty bland :)

A Morning Story

So as anyone with more than one baby can relate, mornings are CHAOS in our house. Complete chaos. Fin is reduced to sitting in a bouncy seat watching me get ready, while Brad is usually chasing Jacks trying to get him to put pants on.

But not Monday morning.

Jack got dressed by himself with us only having to ask twice, and when he was ready...he covered Finley up with blankets (aka bath towels), sat down next to her, and started reading her a book. Brad and I looked at each other in awe, and he ran to grab the camera so we could remember that sometimes in the midst of chaos, there is pure joy.

Which do I miss more??

Brad is in Chicago this week...and decided to send me this picture during lunch.

I'm not sure which one I miss more....Brad or Portillo's. Man, I love me a good Portillo's dog. Ah, Chicago, you're sadly a close second.

And let me add...I'm glad I made Brad add this photo app to his iPhone, it is so much fun to take pictures with it! (and he's obviously coming around too!!)

Celebrating

Brad and I were lucky to have a night alone for our Anniversary this year. Although we had all of the kiddos at our house on the night of our anniv, Jess and Eric took our kiddos the weekend after OVERNIGHT so we could spend time together. We had such a good time...dinner at one of our favs, drink at another one of our favorite spots, and a night in the same room we stayed in the night of our wedding.

A random couple at the bar bought us a round of martinis and offered to take our picture for the night :)

Thanks again, Eric and Jess - it was a great night.

Mr. Mayer

For our Valentine's gifts, Kelley and I got tickets from our hubbies to John Mayer. We had SUCH a good time...

Rude comments or not, this guy can put on a show. I'm pretty sure this was #7 for me, and he

certainly doesn't dissapoint.

Time to spare!

It doesn't happen often, but every great once in a while, we get ready EARLY. And on Sunday, we were ready for church early enough to take pictures! That does NOT happen often, let me tell ya. It typically is more like a scene from the Wizard of Oz, the tornado and all trying to get this herd out the door. Although most things about a family of four has been surprisingly better than I had imagined, the getting out the door part is just as hard as everyone says.

But not this Sunday...there was something great about this Sunday. Good listeners (you know, Jack and Brad!) with a dollop of extra cute kids, and a cherry on top.

She gets a little bored with all of my "FINNERS! HEY FIN FIN!" in the highest pitched voice you've ever heard...


But she can pull through with some cute faces, I tell ya.

Until it's time to be done. She is certainly not afraid to tell you like it is.

Cute kids coupled with one of the best church services I've been to in a long time. What a great day to be thankful for.

Flower Power

Avery always comes to our house in the funniest things....whether it be her outfits, shoes, or accessories. The other night, she left behind this headband, and I thought Fin should make good use of it...

Jacks thought it would be funnier on B, and apparently Kip thought she should mock him...girl cracks me right up.

I scream...You scream...

...we ALL scream for ICE CREAM!

I came across these pictures and had to post them. This was the night of Brad and my anniversary. Jess and Eric were on their way to Colorado, so we took the kiddos overnight, and decided to make ice cream sundaes for desert. It was so much fun!

Everyone got their picture taken with their sundae, made just to their specifications!

Some posed a little better than others...

And it ended something like this...we'll leave it to the imagination. Hey - we were the ones that had to deal with the sugar high, so it's totally acceptable. Plus, if you can't do it at Aunt Rach and Uncle B's house...where can you!?
