day dreaming {at night}

So, my nights have been filled with lots of daydreaming of lots of things.
I mean, when you can't sleep, what else is there to do!?

So yesterday was a rough day. I was grumpy, I had a headache, my back hurt. You know...all good things.
I have to start by saying I am so thankful to have this little nugget inside of me.
She was prayed for and planned for, and I know I shouldn't complain...but everyone has one of those days every once in a while, right??

So last night, I dreamt of things that 10, even 7 years ago, I never thought I would find myself wishing for.
Wearing a belt
Buttoning jeans
Mindlessly looking through emails from my favorite stores instead of deleting them with frustration before even taking a peek
Being able to see my feet
Walking UNlike a penguin

I also have so many things I was thankful for.
Fin slept in her big girl bed last night. ALL night. No getting out of bed. No tears.
She's a champ, that little lady.
And I'm going to try not to jinx myself, but she's also potty traineding. Seriously, a champ.
She also made my day yesterday by insisting we flip through the Anthropologie catalog about six times before she let me set it down.

And then there's Jacks...
He's so smart and funny. Sometimes I forget those things because he moves too fast for me to hear what he says, but oh how I love him.  He has now changed baby's name to Lady Gaga Underpants. I mean, how can you not love a 5 year old boy? A boy who just could NOT sleep last night because he was so excited to ride on his first bus ride today. His favorite new activity - laying his head on my belly to see how hard the baby will kick him. He says she's just getting ready for when they have wrestling matches...

And don't get me started with Brad.
Bless his soul, he lives with a tired and crabby lady, and still manages to make sure I feel OK. He's one busy man, but he's one good man.

I am in NO hurry for my nugget to join us, although my ribs might be feeling differently.
We're finally going to get Finley completely out of her nursery this weekend, clothes and all.
Then the fun part - filling it back up with little bitty baby lady things.

And I didn't even have to buy a second crib.

my grandpa

I am pretty sure I've mentioned before how much I love this man:
This is my Grandpa, and I {and all of his grandkids} pretty much adore him.

And on Thursday, I got to be there with him when it was his time to go to heaven.

Although it breaks my heart, we all know he is enjoying himself again, not struggling...fishing, hunting, and telling stories with Dana.

This past weekend was spent full of laughter and tears, celebrating the life with the family he and my Grandma made together.
From him I got my sweet tooth and love of Diet Mt. Dew, but unfortunately not his gorgeous dark skin.

Me and my Grandpa, taken this Christmas.

He was a talented, generous, hilarious, witty, and proud Grandpa who would do just about anything for us.
We miss you so much already, but we know you're in a better place.
We love you, Grandpa.

worth noting - 26 weeks

Alright, so as of today, I'm 26 weeks el preggo with this little bambino.

I can honestly say I haven't had any plans to update a belly pic, but today is worth noting...even if it is for me to look back at and have a good giggle.

Today, as I was walking past the office of one of my co-workers, he yelled out...
"I heard black was slimming!? MWA HA HA HA HA" {Insert a loud annoying laugh here}.

My initial reaction was to turn around, go into his office, and give him a quick kick in the teeth.
Instead, I started laughing, and I couldn't stop. That's what happens when I'm pregnant.
I get the giggles. Just try to watch America's Funniest Videos or Ridiculousness with me. I dare you.

So I promptly went to the bathroom, and snapped this picture.
Yes, your belly update brought to you by the finest restroom facilities in Symantec. :)

Yesterday I had one of those days. The ones where you could just crawl back into bed because you feel SOOOOOO ugly. So today, it was an all-black day. Apparently it's not so slimming??
Ha.
Ha ha ha.
Sniff.

I'm feeling great. Besides feeling like a heifer, I really do feel better.
I can eat {just ask me by the 23 pounds I've already gained in 26 weeks...and 15 of those weeks I was ill.}
YIKES. 23 pounds. I only gained 27 with Fin, and I have 14 weeks left. I'm in some SERIOUS trouble.
I haven't really had any cravings. But lots of things that sound good to Brad just don't sound good to me. But let's be honest - that's pretty typical.

I've been having some back issues, but I started going to the chiropractor again {woo hoo} and I'm hoping to see some results soon.

So that's it. Feeling good, but not really lookin' it??
26 weeks gone, 14 to go.
98 Days.
Not that anyone is counting
{And actually I wasn't counting until Brad thought it would be a good idea to ask Siri. And then I took his phone and broke it. Ok, not really.}

I am just so excited to meet this little lovey, so baby....grow grow grow grow. I'm hoping for a fat baby this time.

Peace Out.

winter break getaway

I am lucky that during my busy time at work...when the kids have no daycare or school...Brad is willing to take some much needed time off and hang out with them.  Especially when both of those kids AND their Mama have a cold from hell.

Needless to say, I think the last day of break everyone was ready to get out of the house.
So what to do? Load up the kids and go swimming!

Finley and I hung out in the baby pool and wading in the water, but I'm pretty sure snack time was her favorite part.
{Yes, I was there, but you bet your booty I was not going to let a camera get anywhere near me in a swimming suit.}

So much fun, and so much energy was burned off.
Mission Completed.

finley's friends

All fall my girlfriends and I have been talking about when a play date would work with the kiddos.
Finally a date was picked, and they were SO CUTE to see play together.
Jacks was super sick, so he stayed home with Brad, but the rest of the kids {and their Moms} had so much fun.

{Cohen, 13 months...Parker, 2 in January...Finley, 2....Carson, 10 months}

A little movie time, trying to induce a coma. Not so much.

Thanks girls for the fun!

NYE
You know your NYE plans have changed over the years when these two pictures were the only ones taken the entire evening....
Finley decided to walk right into the ping pong table, so with a bleeding big gash on her cheek, she needed a band-aid.  Good thing Parker wanted to match! {It made the convincing SO much easier for Fin}
These two were cracking us up the whole night. Walking up and down stairs holding hands, dancing their tooshes off, and playing SO well together. We've been waiting for them to play together like they do these days.

The next day we contemplated stitches because the cut looked so wide, but it actually is healing really well.
Whew.
We were home by 12:30.
I know....total party animals :)

christmas eve

Christmas Eve is always a crazy day for us. We get up early, pack the car and we're off to Mankato for Christmas with the Reiter Family.

Sadly, only two pictures were taken.
Trying to keep the reigns on my two babies, as well as snuggling an ADORABLE babe, my camera just was not a priority.

Grandpa Scott with the Finster and baby Hadley.  See why I wanted to hold her!? She's so sweet.
And how appropriate that Fin also decided to keep her hand in her mouth for the pic.

Then, it's off to Hector for church and Christmas Eve with the Petersons.

If it isn't my little ones, it's my big kid that doesn't know where to look for the camera :)

Five of my favorite bambinos that ever roamed the earth.

My adorbs little sisters.

And is it just me, or is it harder to get everyone's heads in the picture every year!?
Kara made these adorable photo props...and we put them to good use.

And...we even got my Grandma in on the action.

And I can't finish the post without saying at midnight, the littlest (and by littlest I mean tallest) of the Peterson girls turned 21. Poor thing, there's no where to go in a small town on Christmas Day.

And no, she does not always look like this. But a good reason to post a fat-booth picture of the girl that rarely looks ugly?  Opportunity taken.
You're welcome, Kas. I love you too.

walter christmas

The Saturday before Christmas marked the first of our many Christmases.
It was fun to have everyone (no one was missing this year!) from my Mom's side there.

The Finster with Gigi

Me and my Grandpa

Two of the greatest grandparents that ever existed.
We love them to pieces.

Daddy's Girl

Is it sad that the best pic with the great grand kids that I had was a silly-faced picture?
And can you tell we had woken Fin up for this? She wasn't terribly amused.

And the most exciting part of the day...
Becky, my godmother, and her boyfriend Paul got engaged.
In front of us all - it was a really fun moment to see, and we are SO excited for them!!
Now, off to download the rest of my Christmas pictures.....
